In November 2024, the Ghana Pipeline Project reached a significant milestone with the successful completion of four out of six planned phases. Covering a total length of 99.63 km, the project has made impressive progress, with 79.23 km of pipeline now.
The project, which involves pipelines with diameters ranging from 323.9 mm, is focused on transporting natural gas. The pipeline wall thickness varies between 7.93 mm to 12.7 mm, requiring specialized techniques for cleaning and inspection. To ensure the highest standards of pipeline maintenance, the team has utilized foam pigs and gauging pigs for cleaning, followed by thorough inspections using Caliper tools and Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) technology.
This combined approach of cleaning and advanced inspection has contributed to the successful completion of these four phases, surpassing expectations in terms of both speed and data quality. The exceptional performance of the data collected so far has laid a solid foundation for the remaining phases of the project.
The client has expressed strong satisfaction with the project's progress and results, praising the team's technical expertise and leadership. With two phases remaining, the team is confident in maintaining high standards and delivering a benchmark project in pipeline inspection and maintenance.
